Dear Utilities Community,

The SAP for Energy and Utilities Conference in Sevilla, Spain, held from 23-25 April, was a resounding success, attracting over 1000 attendees from 58 countries. With more than 40 sponsors, the conference provided a platform for industry leaders, experts, and innovators to collaborate, learn, and explore the latest technology advancements in the energy and utilities sector. 
The key topics have of course been RISE with SAP incl. SAP Utilities Core, Distributed Energy Resources, Business AI for Energy & Utilities, Innovations in Asset Management incl. STO, Field Logistics and Customer Experience for Utilities.

Pre-Conference Workshop Day:
The conference began with a sold-out pre-conference workshop day, covering various topics related to SAP
solutions. These included elevating SAP S/4HANA Utilities to the Cloud, empowering utilities with smart metering and distributed energy resources, enabling the energy transformation with new solutions to support the Asset Life-Cycle, enhancing customer experience in utilities, and a deep dive into SAP for Oil, Gas & Energy. Followed by open door sessions focusing on Sustainability, AI, SAP Signavio, EV charging, RISE with SAP, Shutdown, Turnaround, and Outage, Customer Experience and Smart Metering for Water. The day concluded with a networking event sponsored by Capgemini, fostering valuable connections among participants.

SAP Executive Digital Exchange for Energy & Utilities:
Simultaneously, the SAP Executive Digital Exchange for Energy & Utilities took place, attracting nearly 60 executives. The event provided a platform for collaboration, learning, and innovation in the industry.

First Conference Day:
The main conference day commenced with a keynote session by Daniela Haldy-Sellmann, Global VP and Head of IBU Energy & Utilities Industries, SAP on "Technology for a Brighter Future." This was followed by a panel discussion featuring Carmen De Pablo, CFO of Cepsa, and Prof. Paul Simshauser, CEO of Powerlink Queensland, who shared their experiences with digital transformation and their vision for the future. Amber Forte delivered an inspirational speech on her passion for wingsuit flying and carried everyone away.

Business Women Networking Lunch: 
It was a blast to welcome for the first time more than 80 women and men to our BWN event. Thank you for your trust following us, it was a perfect atmosphere for networking and an informal interview between, Daniela Haldy-Sellmann, Carmen de Pablo, Amber Forte and Jürgen Eisele - thank you for the insights behind the scenes.

Exhibition and Track Sessions:
Throughout the conference, attendees had the opportunity to explore the exhibition area, engage with partners, attend microforums, and visit the SAP booth. Nearly 200 demos were provided to energy and utilities companies during the two-day event. The conference offered eight different track sessions, covering areas such as utilities, oil, gas & energy, asset management, customer experience, artificial intelligence, water, sustainability, and distributed energy resources. These learning sessions were presented by customers, partners, and SAP experts.

Networking and Evening Event:
Recognizing the importance of networking, an evening event at Cartuja Gardens, provided participants with an opportunity to connect, enjoy food, music, and foster the strength of our amazing community.

2nd conference day: 
After an outstanding evening event Petra Velzeboer's, Mental Health Expert & Author, keynote, "Exploring The Dynamic Interplay Between Technology and Work Culture," awakened our minds and reminded us of the importance of holistic well-being in the fast-paced world of technology.

SAP's Chad Leonard created a seamless transition to discussing RISE with SAP joined by NiSource's Waco Bankston and Compañía General de Combustibles' Guido Descalzi, they delved into the transformative power of RISE with SAP and the myriad benefits it offers. Their expertise and experiences provided invaluable guidance for those seeking to embark on a successful transformation journey.

After 25+ hours of content, the conference came to a close, leaving attendees with a wealth of knowledge and connections. We are looking forward to sharing the created content soon and are pleased to let you know that next year's conference is already penciled in for Rotterdam, Netherlands emphasising the importance of growing the community to drive technology and innovation for a brighter energy future.
