4 月 23 日消息，搜索引擎 Ecosia 公司为迎接世界地球日，宣布推出同名浏览器，号称是“全球最环保的浏览器”。
Ecosia 浏览器基于谷歌的开源 Chromium 项目，为用户提供了丰富的定制选项，可以移除热门网站或气候变化等小部件。
Ecosia 浏览器在运营方面使用太阳能发电场，官方表示平均到每位浏览器用户，每天浏览网页可以产生 25Wh 的绿色能源，足够一个灯泡使用三个小时。
Ecosia 浏览器内置了广告拦截器、优化了运行速度，页面加载速度比大多数主流浏览器快三倍。更少的广告也意味着用户消耗更少的数据和能源，此外官方还通过阻止跟踪器来保护用户的隐私。
Ecosia 当前搜索引擎目前拥有超过 2000 万用户，如果都能使用该浏览器，那么的节省的费用也是非常可观的。
