Western Digital gives portable PC gamers more capacity with new high-performance NVMe SSD

Handheld gaming PCs have really kicked off, with Valve's SteamDeck, ASUS' Rog Ally and more on the way. To help get the most out of your gaming experience, storage manufacturer Western Digital has released a new premium, high-performance SSD designed directly for today's handheld PC gaming devices. It builds on WD's legacy of performance storage for all kinds of competitive gamers.

The new Western Digital drive is the WD_BLACK SN770M NVMe SSD, a high-performance, premium M.2 2230 drive, engineered for performance, for competitive gaming, and specifically for handheld gaming devices.

One of the best upgrades you can give your PC or console is a high-end SSD, giving you seamless performance, fast and fluid gaming content, and loads of capacity so you don't have to swap games in and out. Western Digital has your back with its new disk, building on the already excellent heritage of the WD_BLACK range.

In fact, Gartner expects the handheld gaming console market to reach 14.8M by 2027, and as more and more AAA titles are released, here's an SSD to ensure you can make the most of your on-the-go gaming experience, and spend less time waiting and waiting.

The WD_BLACK SN770M NVMe SSD in the small M.2 2230 form-factor gives consumers a way to expand their handheld gaming PC internal storage so they can take their game library anywhere they go. By offering a range of capacities, consumers now have more options to expand their game libraries, with up to 2TB of trusted Western Digital TLC 3D NAND. This new drive also offers an immersive experience with exclusive gaming features including PCIe Gen 4.0, Western Digital's nCache 4.0 technology, and Microsoft’s DirectStorage support. This is a great option to supercharge compatible handheld devices, such as the ASUS ROG Ally, with speeds up to 5,150 MB/s (1TB and 2TB models) for blazingly quick game installations and level loads.

The WD_BLACK SN770M NVMe SSD is available in 1TB, and 2TB capacities and features Western Digital's 5-year limited warranty. The products retail in Australia for $239.00 MSRP (1TB) and $439.00 (2TB) and are available now from JB Hi-Fi.
