Clinton Memorial Hospital (CMH) has disclosed the appointment of Tom Daskalakis, FACHE, a healthcare executive with an accomplished history in leadership positions within hospitals in Ohio and Michigan, as the newly designated Chief Executive Officer of the hospital.

Daskalakis is scheduled to assume the position of CEO on September 11, as per an official press release. He will take over from Tony Young, who has been serving as the interim CEO at CMH since March 2023.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Daskalakis stated, “I’m thrilled to join the skilled, compassionate team at Clinton Memorial Hospital and have the opportunity to lead our hospital’s efforts to advance the health and well-being of this area. I look forward to getting to know the Clinton County community and growing our partnership as we strive to provide the best possible care and outcomes for every patient who comes through our doors.”

Over the past dozen years, Daskalakis has been an integral part of the executive team at West Chester Hospital – UC Health, a 204-bed facility situated in West Chester, Ohio. He embarked on his journey there in 2011 as the chief operating officer and held the position of chief administrative officer for the past eight years. He also served as the vice president of business development at Miami Valley Hospital – Premier Health, held the position of chief operating officer at Garden City Hospital in Michigan, and undertook three distinct roles at Kettering Medical Center Network. His career began as an administrative director, and he progressed through the ranks to become vice president of clinical services, ultimately reaching the position of executive vice president of clinical and support services.

Daskalakis obtained a master of health administration from Xavier University and a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Cincinnati.

Brian Walton, the president of Community Hospitals for ScionHealth, the parent company of Clinton Memorial Hospital, commented on Tom’s extensive experience and notable achievements in high-performing hospitals. Dr. Philip Aschi, a urologist at Clinton Memorial Hospital and the Chairman of its Board of Trustees, emphasized that Daskalakis’ comprehensive work history spanning hospital leadership, operations, business development, and clinical services positions him as an ideal candidate to lead CMH.
