Add paywalls to your GitHub repositories
Waddup ProductHunters, Vic here! 👋
I've worked as a freelancer in the past, and I've also been part of various open source projects, so one day it hit me :) What if you could keep the amazing collaborating features that GitHub offers (contributors, commits, logs, and so on) while also monetizing your repositories and projects. 💼
This is how GitWall was born 🚀
Protect intellectual property aka your projects, and monetize repos in a few clicks 💸
Give it a try, it's FREE :)
@puppycodes I'm sorry you misunderstood the purpose of our software😅it's not about gate keeping anything, or about damaging the reputation of open source projects.
It's all about merging GitHub's amazing collaborative feature with a safe payment system to create a better experience for developers that want to monetise their code, and for customers wanting to get access to that code.
It's way better than putting a .zip file with source code behind a GumRoad. What if there are updates to the code? What if people that purchased the source code want to bring updates to the table? It'd be a big mess :)
Thanks for tuning in to the launch, and hope that I clarified it for you✌️
Cheers!
@kevin_brendel Great question Kevin. So the whole idea behind Gitwall is being able to keep GitHub's amazing collaborative features, while also being able to monetize access to your repository.
So once someone get's through the paywall, they automatically get an invite in the repository as a collaborator
