WikiLeaks founder and publisher Julian Assange turns 52 on Monday, still stuck in the UK's Belmarsh maximum security jail as he waits to hear the outcome of a second appeal to the High Court against a British extradition order.
In June, the Australian lost his first appeal against the order that aims to send him to the US for trial over alleged espionage charges.
The second appeal was filed on 13 June. Since then his wife, father and brother have been campaigning for his release, but nothing has yet happened.

Assange faces charges in the US for publishing classified information that was leaked to WikiLeaks by an American soldier, then known as Bradley Manning, but now, after gender reassignment surgery, known as Chelsea Manning.
Julian is turning 52 tomorrow, Monday July 3rd. His fifth birthday in Belmarsh prison.

His wife, Stella, recently met Pope Francis in her continuing bid to push for her husband's freedom.
She told the Associated Press: “He has provided great solace and comfort and we are extremely appreciative for his reaching out to our family in this way. He understands that Julian is suffering and is concerned.
“I have a lot of faith that the situation will change, and there are a lot of people around the world, from all parts of the world here and elsewhere, who are trying to get justice and see freedom for my husband."
