Question SD Native call recording & CSC (without rooting)

My second phone S22U SEK CSC updated OTA to problematic WE1 and Play Protect said "Device is not cetified" in Google Play Store.

Because previous firware WD3 is still same bootloader "3", I just downgrade with ODIN (BL,AP,CP,HOME_CSC) and and status changed: "Deivice is certified" it is not needetd to install any "sensitiveprops" or "safetynet-fix". If device is with official firmware, no root, no knox tripped, no mods, Play Protect automatically verifies device and status become "certified".

* * *

For S23 series THL CSC updated OTA to WEA is is not possible to downgrade because bootlader of WEA become "2" and previous firmware WD1 have lower bootlaoder "1". So for S23 users have to want next newer firmware for certification fix.

Thanks for quick reply. Wow, it is strange. Can you please tell how the downgrade process would be with magisk installed? I got bootlooped yesterday many times, untill i formated the data (I mean, if I use the home_csc file won't work, but if i use the normal CSC it will format data and work)

Thanks and best regards,

Pablo

Sorry, the message was not sent correctly.

Is it possible to downgrade a system without losing data? The problem came because I downgraded using the home_csc file.

Thanks and best,

Downgrade from official to official firmware via PC with ODIN and all 4 files: BL, AP, CP and HOME_CSC will preserve data. (Only HOME_CSC most probably will corrupt data - all must be same version).

If you have magisk, so your phone is (or was) rooted, or custom rom, or custom recovery, anything else modded - so there are no guarantees for data preservation during the downgrade.

I confirm the problem with problematic firmware.
S22, CSC SEK, firmware WE1, and can't use Google Pay ("Device is not cetified"). For me, the solution is to hold on and wait for the update. In the meantime, I'll switch to the European CSC EUX.

.? And if you switch to EUX?

Is Google pay going to work?

What is your opinion on SamFw? Virustotal says it is full of trojans. Their website doesn't look very legal, you need to run it as admin, and after installation it "looks for an update", if you block this connection, the program won't start at all, ip leads to Colombia - another suspicious thing.

Is it worth it to you?

No. It is same firmware. Just different features enabled/dissabled depending of active CSC.

If question is to me.
I keep several older SamFw versions.
3.31 is the latest that works without internet (blocked internet access)
Still shows a problem on Virus Total but no problem found several months usage.

Meanwhile:
On my old S22 (SM-S908B) on SEK CSC with WE1 with GPay problem (not certified), downgrade via ODIN to WD3 (certified), now again updated OTA to WE1 - shows CERTIFIED on Google Play Store, Safetynet Test - PASSED.

Might be a miracle... Google Play Protect updated. Will see.. . 😁

did anyone else lost the ability to use google pay on their device ( SM-S908B/DS exynos, had changed last year CSC to SEK) after the update to S908BXXU4CWE1?

more info: seems that it has only a few CSC available now and I get the message that the device doesn't meet security requirements and in google store the play protect certification says device not certified

There was no need to switch the CSC. Overnight, an update came to Google services or Google Play. Everything works with same SEK CSC now.

I can confirm that. Still on WE1 and SEK CSC. Google Pay is working from today again.

So I've owned my Samsung Galaxy A54 5G, the "SM-A546U" model for almost a month, and it currently contains the "TMK" CSC. I haven't done any in-depth modding to a Samsung device since 2017 when I last owned my Galaxy S7 due to Samsung's anti-consumer practices, but that's besides the point. I'm not trying to root my device, but I want to enable native call recording which is currently missing on my device so I would like to know if there is any way possible to force my device to support a certain CSC that will enable this feature. Any helpful advice would be welcome and I would greatly appreciate it.

This is a usa model. There are no csc in the rom that enable call recording.
For that you buy the international model, but then you may have problems with the frequencies.
Sorry mate

So the same answer should be also fit on A546B (European) model right?
Because there is no CSC in EUX rom that enables the native call recorder. Is this correct?
And in that case, from A54 5G models only the A546E (Asian) version is able to carry native call recorder by changing an appropriate CSC. Am I correct again?

  • thanks, tried but sadly it still sees my s22 as not certified;
also the safetynet test fails on CTS profile match

Samsung miss to authorised their ...WE1 in Google Play Protect. (Happens many times with a lot of devices. First time on my Note20 I write and call Samsung... until any understood and answer me the next firmware comes.)

    Options:
Wait Samsung to release next firmware ...WEx (x>1) or ...WFx

Downgrade via ODIN (AP, BL, CP, HOME_CSC) to ...WD3 (and turn of temporary OTA updates).

    P. S.
Nothing other helps (delete, uninstall, even factory reset on this firmware), just firmware did not pass GPP. The chance Google to reauthiorize it is small than Samsung to push the next firmware.

I tried to send via telegram original picture but unfortunately it compress it like whatsapp

Because you didn't learn enough about telegram. In order not to compress it you need to sent as a file, then choose gallery and then the picture. Zero compression.
