Verona-A-Trip-To-The-City-Of-Your-Dreams.jpg

At some point in our lives, surely somewhere, we will have heard or even read about the romance between Romeo and Juliet. However, you may not have known that this romance occurred in Verona in Northern Italy. Verona is Veneto’s second-largest urban municipality and northeastern Italy’s third-largest urban municipality.

It is a highly touristic destination, both because of its artistic heritage and for the lyrical performances that take place in the arena, the ancient theater built by the Romans. In this article, we will travel together to Verona, and you will be given various ideas on how to organize your program and thus have time to discover the city’s beauties.

Visiting the sights of the city

Being a romantic city, Verona invites you to discover every single corner. It has exciting places to see and sights with significant historical value worth looking for. When you are in Verona, it is worth visiting Juliet’s House. This is the famous Shakespearean building dating back to the 13th century and is supposed to be the place where Juliet’s balcony was located. So when you are there, you will see the visitors leave relevant messages and touch the right chest of the bronze statue of Juliet to bring them happiness and luck in love, while the leading role is, of course, the locked padlocks that “ensure” eternal love.

An attraction that is also worth seeing is the Tower of Lamberti. There you will have the opportunity to see the view of Verona from above. Its construction started in the 12th century and was completed in 1463 and is an ideal observatory to see the 360-degree captivating view. An elevator covers a two-thirds distance, while for the last meters, you have to walk them.

Another idea for a walk is near the Museo d Castelvecchio. There, you can walk on the impressive bridge and then visit the museum, where you will see various kinds of Renaissance paintings, statues, jewelry, and other objects.

Walk in the markets of Verona

As a city in Italy, Verona could not fail to be intertwined with terms such as shopping and fashion. In Verona, you will find various kinds of fashion, clothing, and shoe shops and the largest flea markets in Italy. In particular, Verona’s Piazza del Erbe is a benchmark of commercial and non-commercial stores. There you will find a flea market, various kinds of cafes, and luxurious buildings that will catch your attention, such as the Palazzo Maffei.

In addition, it is worth visiting the Palazzo Della Ragione in Verona. On weekends there is usually a market with various foods, drinks, Italian delicacies, and other products, which are surrounded by Renaissance palaces, such as the Palazzo Degli Scaligeri and the Loggia del Consiglio.

Gastronomy

Although the gastronomy of Verona is closely linked to the typical Italian flavors, it also includes some interesting dishes that make it stand out from the wider Italian cuisine. Specifically, there is a suitable store in Verona, depending on what you want to eat. Street food, seafood, and whatever else you want, you can find it there.

However, the traditional cuisine of Verona has its honor, and many choose it to see what it is about. So in Verona, you will meet dishes such as horse stew, pasta with duck ragout, as well as fish with various kinds of spices, and unprecedented combinations with vegetables. Of course, after such a meal, the best idea is to enjoy a dessert. So, you can choose between biscotti and chocolates or a delicious tiramisu and other sweets with cream or chocolate. In any case, you are not going to be hungry!

Verona radiates eroticism since it is linked with Romeo and Juliet. Having new experiences and images is pure magic, so I invite you to discover the magic of Verona. If you want to live the experience of traveling to the city of love, to walk the streets of Verona and discover its enchanting spots, you only have to organize a trip there immediately!
