Barbara Matthews joins Remote as Chief People Officer

Global human resource management solutions provider Remote has announced that Barbara Matthews has joined the company as its Chief People Officer.
Matthews joins Remote from Stripe, where she helped build the company’s global HR function as its International Head of HR, EMEA & APAC.
Prior to Stripe, Matthews spent more than 12 years on the People team at Google, and Remote says that like all its employees, she will work from her chosen location in the world - Dublin, Ireland - and report directly to CEO Job van der Voort.
Remorte notes that in her role, Matthews “owns the strategic planning, implementation, and scalability” of the company through its distributed team around the world.
"As a fully remote company with team members located across the globe, we recognise that our success hinges on having a people-first approach to our work. Barbara’s experience in building and nurturing high-performing distributed teams will be invaluable as we continue to grow,” said Job van der Voort, co-founder and CEO of Remote.
"As someone who has spent my career working with distributed teams, I am thrilled to join Remote at this pivotal moment in the future of work,” said Matthews.
“My focus as Chief People Officer will be to ensure that we provide an environment where our employees can thrive and grow, and to build a culture that supports our vision of making opportunities accessible to everyone."
