The Tineco Pure One S12 Platinum vacuum sucks harder, longer, stronger

Intelligent home appliance innovator, Tineco, has released a brand new premium cordless smart vacuum at mid-tier pricing that auto-senses where dust and dirt are and adjusts its suction accordingly. It’s the Tineco Pure One S12 Platinum, and it also comes with an astounding range of included accessories for the ultimate in home care.

Tineco - that's "tin-eh-co”, not “tinyco” - brings over 25 years of experience, with four in Australia, exclusive to Godfreys. It’s a subsidiary of the Ecovacs group, already known for its smart robo-vacs. The Tineco range looks like your traditional upright cordless vacuum, except that its built-in smarts leave your traditional dumb vacs way, way behind.

Each Tineco device - like the Tineco Pure One S12 Platinum - is imbued with iLoop smart sensor technology, and has been lauded globally with iF Design and Red Dot Design awards, as well as a CES Innovation Award. The iLoop sensor means the vac can adjust its suction power in real time based on detecting dust and dirt and seeing the need for a deep clean. There’s visual feedback, with a clear LED display switching between blue and red so you know when it’s found extra dirt. I’ve been amazed by how much dirt and dog hair it’s picked up from my carpet that I didn’t even see. You can see it in my photo here - that's real use on my real carpet!

The Tineco Pure One S12 Platinum achieves its magic by joining the sensor with a direct drive power brush and high-torque motor so it can spin up and down with extra grunt when needed, for more demanding jobs. What’s really nice is Tineco gives you two batteries to provide 100 minutes of high-power suction before you need to go back to the wall-mounted charging station. That station will also charge both batteries at once - one inside the vacuum, and one independently, so you can always be sure you have both ready when needed.

The device gives you feedback through an all-in-one LED touch display so you can see battery level, filter status, and capacity at once, and change settings too. You also get feedback via voice, with the Pure One telling you when to empty the dust chamber. Thankfully, too, Tineco has implemented smart filter self-cleaning tech so you don’t have to rinse or manually remove dirt, giving you nice, fast, effective mess-free maintenance.

If all that wasn't enough, the box includes ten premium accessories for full top-to-bottom cleaning. Unboxing the Tineco Pure One S12 Platinum was like Christmas; there’s the vacuum itself, the wall mount, a second battery, and then brushes and extensions a-plenty. You can extend its reach, make the head more flexible, adjust attachments for different types of surfaces, and all kinds of things - and all of them are so easy to detach and attach. You get an automatic pre-filter cleaning tool, a two-in-one dusting brush, an LED soft-roller power brush, a direct-drive LED multi-tasker power brush, a HEPA filtration kit with two pre-filters and one HEPA filter, and more. The HEPA filter captures 99.97% of particles ejected while cleaning, expelling non-allergenic fresh air.

iTWire has been using it and has been loving it. There’s a short-hair dog in my house, not to mention children and also a long-haired wife, and - depending on who you ask - I’m possibly responsible for bringing in a bit of dirt too. My first test of the Tineco Pure One S12 Platinum was to run it over the rug in the lounge room and my goodness, the screen went red telling me it had found lots of dirt and dust. This was especially noticeable when the rug met the base of the lounge - I suppose where feet converge and the dog likes to lie down. The vac switched its power up all by itself, and I ran it over the same spots until the colour indicator changed to blue. To be truthful, I couldn’t see anything but rug but I heard the rattle of solid objects as they went into the vacuum head and up its shaft into the dirt reservoir - and there I absolutely saw dirt and dust and hair, all moulded together in a grossly fascinating dustball that I had no idea existed previously.

You can leave the suction level on auto, but also manually adjust it if you wish.

What's more, it runs as low as 71dB for a super quiet operation that won’t disrupt babies or pets, and you also can use a free companion smartphone app to track your cleaning and generate real-time updates and reports as well as update the firmware on your vacuum. The app will also give you advice on any problems you encounter.
