Billboards Unveil Beefed-up Cameras of the Upcoming Sony Xperia 1 V
Sony is all set to unroll the curtains on its 2023 flagship phone in ten days. Past teasers hinted that Sony Xperia 1 V will feature a similar design as its predecessors. However, now there’s confirmation regarding the outlook. The brand-new Sony flagship has appeared on a billboard in Hong Kong.
Per the billboard image, the Sony Xperia 1 V will boast a three-camera vertical design on the back. It’s pretty similar to the last flagship. But there’s one noticeable difference, which is the oval island of the back. The island appears more prominent than the previous phone, and the lenses also seem larger!
Billboards Showcase the Bold Design of Sony Xperia 1 V
The photo of the billboard appeared on Reddit. Interestingly, the advertisement on the billboard says, “One for all lights.” This automatically hints that the Sony Xperia 1 V will double down the low-noise camera sensor. To be exact, the phone will pack “the next-gen double low-noise camera sensor.”
Gizchina News of the week
According to previous reports, Sony chose the IMX 989 as the primary camera of the Xperia 1 V. But there’s a chance that the phone might pack the IMX 858 as the main sensor, as it is the only available platform that supports the new low-noise LN2 mode. The IMX 858 also has Multi-Camera Synchronization System (MCSS).
To fill you in, the LN2 mode of the Sony IMX 858 implements a new architecture of the CMOS sensor technology. It does not apply photodiodes and pixel transitions on the same plane and substrate. Instead, they are all stacked on top of each other.
That expands the dynamic range and allows the sensor to absorb more light. So, with the IMX 858, the Xperia 1 V could offer a next-level low-light camera performance. And it would be pretty interesting to see how the phone stacks up against the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
