A focus-honed working station for online professionals

Hey Product Hunt!

I'm Dmitry, CEO and founder of Sidekick, the first productivity browser for online professionals. We are here again as our mission is far from being over. Most literally, we still have to fight for your attention.

Our previous launch on Product Hunt was all about effectiveness and features for productive online work. This month’s big update is already making headlines and it’s about something that's increasingly hard to achieve online. Concentration.

Cold fact: Mainstream browsers make money by getting a revenue share from search engines like Bing or Google. As a result, they make money every time they get to distract you from work and send you towards a search and browsing binge. Browsers were built for browsing and monetizing your attention, not for work. That's why we had to reinvent them.

At first, we focused on UI and productivity and created our signature features Sidebar, Global Search, and Sessions. The in-built adblock and a streamlined engine made Sidekick one of the fastest browsers on the planet, but that was not enough. So we launched Workspaces, Sync, Multi-Accounts, and other great features.

The feedback we were receiving was very encouraging. People lauded Sidekick for its powerful tools and speed. We've also got many emails from users with ADHD, attention deficit disorder, a condition that hinders concentration. They praised Sidekick for helping them get their lives back. This is when I realized that accidentally we created a solution for a condition I've been struggling with since high school.

Today, about 500 million people suffer from ADHD globally. They know a lot about attention deficit and the everyday pain it causes. Obviously, focus-honed solutions for them would benefit one and all, as distractions on the Internet are a universal problem.

Safeguarding your focus is our company mission. That's why we conducted extensive ADHD-user research and defined key areas where assistive tech could play a critical role in protecting our attention. After that, there was only one thing left to do: integrate the right tools to rebuke digital distractions.

Today, we are proud to share them with you.

1. No ads within your eyesight is key to productive online work and coping with ADHD. In-built Adblock 2.0 solves this problem so easily that you don't really need a Premium subscription to watch Youtube ad-free.

2. Youtube, by the way, is a distraction too. Keeping media and social platforms aside during your workday is a must. Distraction blocker helps create this healthy habit by redirecting you back to your task lists or inbox.

3. If that's still not enough, mute all notifications and run the Full-Screen focus mode which hides tabs and layout elements and helps you focus on the important. Enter the zero-distraction zone.

4. Focusing is one thing, and recalling is another. People tend to forget things. Our user-friendly Task manager is built to alleviate anxiety around your daily goals. Now you can pin a task to your desktop as a sticky note and run a Pomodoro timer to manage your work/rest cycles more effectively.

5. Organizing your workplace properly is now much easier with Collections, a powerful tool for documents and bookmarks. Use them to create a knowledge base that's always with you. Share it with friends and colleagues.

Other novelties include not-so-visible but really cool upgrades in the UX, Split-View and other layout elements.

Altogether, Sidekick-2023 is a browser that protects your attention and keeps your mind sharp, a lifeline for digital professionals and neurodiverse users with ADHD and other focus-related issues. It's now sleeker, faster, and smarter, with AI integration in full swing.

By the way, today we use artificial intelligence to enhance our AdBlock, tab suspender, and Global search. Our next big update will give AI a much bigger role. Please send your feedback and stay tuned.

Thanks, @chrismessina for your invaluable support.
