I’ve tried Notion AI and…

Nowadays, almost everyone is amazed by ChatGPT and the value it brings to a vast number of people. There are incredibly many new tools available based on GPT, catering to all possible needs such as content creation, video production, design, and so on.

I personally used ChatGPT, ignoring all other tools, because it was more convenient for me. So, my workflow looked like this: need to do something -> go to ChatGPT -> put question / make prompts —> copy the answer -> paste where needed. This was extremely inconvenient and time-consuming, especially considering that it’s often overloaded.

That was until I became interested in Notion AI. I downloaded Notion again (for those who don’t know why I deleted it, here’s the post). I started using it, and I was very surprised — to the point that I subscribed to the unlimited plan.

Why Notion again?

First of all, Notion is a very versatile product. It can be used for many tasks, from team management to personal shopping lists.

For teams, as I already mentioned, the functionality is sufficient. After Tana, it doesn’t look very convenient. But for content and personal databases, it is a good and cool tool.

The biggest problem with Obsidian, which I encountered after 3 months of use, is its chaos. It’s cool, yes, you can manually set metadata, see it all on the graph, and so on. But what if I want to share a page with a friend? And collaborate with someone?

That’s where the problems start. Of course, there are many ways to solve them, but overall, effort is required. In Notion, you just need to press one button. The speed of creating and linking pages here is not very impressive. It’s hard to get used to it again, but for me, the pros outweigh the cons.

But the biggest WOW and the reason for switching again, probably, was their AI.

Why Notion AI is cool?

As I mentioned above, I had a very complicated workflow that exhausted me a little, but at the same time, I didn’t want to do anything about it. But when I entered Notion, and it offered me to use their AI features, I was pleasantly surprised. The way this product is seamlessly integrated is its biggest advantage.

Seamless integration.

When working with and using AI, your workflow typically follows these steps: highlight the text, write a prompt, wait for the response, copy it, delete the previous text, and paste the new answer.

In Notion, it’s incredibly easy to implement. Below I’ve attached an example of what it looks like. And most importantly, it requires minimal time to insert new content instead of the old one. Just one button, and the content is ready.

Ready-made prompts.

The next thing that I really liked is that since it’s a ready-to-use product, the guys at Notion analyzed the most popular requests and made them into prompts for AI. And you know what, it’s incredibly convenient. Instead of coming up with what you want to do, you just take and use what’s already there.

Another note I’d like to add is that when you start using AI to improve your writing, it becomes a habit. Before, I would rarely edit my posts besides correcting errors. But now that I’ve discovered the «Improve writing» feature, I find myself clicking it constantly. It’s pretty cool, actually.

This feature is like having a helpful assistant saying, «Hey, I’m here to help you». And I can’t really disagree with that.

A product you want to pay for.

And this, I think, is an incredible implementation of a product. When you start using it in cases where you usually wouldn’t, it creates a habit. If you get used to it, you’ll pay for it. And keep paying for it. That’s how very strong products work.

When I tried Notion AI, it was available for free for some time. And once again, when I wanted to improve my text and saw the message — “$10 to get unlimited access to Notion AI,” I didn’t even think twice, I immediately paid.

If you think about it and analyze this case, you can easily see that this is an example where the value of the product to the user is many times higher than its price.
