Online training software company ReadyTech is expanding its Centre of Excellence at the University of Tasmania. with backing from the statement government
ReadyTech (ASX:RDY) provides software services to organisations, including educators, medium-sized employers, and local and state governments, ranging from student services to employee management and payroll, ratepayer services, and case management for the justice sector.
ReadyTech has been operating in Tasmania for more than 20 years and has expanded its operations to increase the technology roles available in Launceston, in northern Tasmania.
The company currently employs 45 tech industry workers in the region, and plans to double those numbers over the next 12 months.
ReadyTech’s Centre of Excellence will serve as a hub for local software engineering, data science, and product management to support the company’s global expansion. It will also incubate and develop local technology industry talent.
Chief Executive of Education and Work Pathways, James Diamond, said ReadyTech’s Tasmanian technology team would help support their mission to build world-class technology products for businesses in Australia and worldwide.
“Our history in Tasmania began over 20 years ago with the development of software for the education and training market, and we now deliver market-leading products across Education & Work Pathways, Workforce Solutions and Government & Justice,” he said.
“We look forward to seeing local technology talent contribute to the success of our customers as well as the future growth of Tasmania’s local tech industry,” he said.
ReadyTech is actively skilling Tasmania’s workforce by providing software products and support to the local vocational education and training (VET) sector.
Tasmanian state development, construction and housing minister Guy Barnett said the Government will assist the Centre of Excellence expansion with location establishment support, employee relocation, and recruitment help, and staff training and development incentives.
“This support has ensured Launceston is the home of the expansion and will enable new high-quality and high-paying jobs and local investment in growing industries in Tasmania,” he said.
