据太阳动力学观测站(SDO)发布的消息， 太阳北极突出部的一大块物质突然断裂脱落，正在一个巨大的极地漩涡中，绕着太阳北极旋转。
美国航空航天局(NASA)表示， 脱落的部分是一个巨大的等离子体丝，或者电化气体 ，就像从太阳表面射出的细长的、不均匀的线，被太阳磁力拴住。
这种奇特的现象让天文学家们感到兴奋，也非常困惑。
据推测，这个突出物与太阳磁场的逆转有关，而这种逆转每个太阳周期都会发生一次，突出物每11年就会精确地出现在太阳极冠周围55度的纬度上。
