Ventura bluetooth issues with Logitech MX Master 3S mouse?

I've been using a Logitech MX Master 3S mouse over Bluetooth with no problems on Monterey, but ever since upgrading to Ventura it's become a lot more flakey. Even just moving the mouse around sometimes seem to be a bit laggy. Has anyone else experienced this since upgrading to Ventura?

I've been using Logitech MX Master mouses since the first one. Now using an MX Master 3. With my first one I had trouble with BT, so I've been using the Logitech dongle aver since with no issues. I'm now on Beta 13.1.

I'm using the small dongle with MX master 3. With Montery, the connection to both wired keyboard and mouse could be cut off randomly. I had to reconnect my TB3 dock to recover. With Ventura, I haven't seen any disconnect so far (upgraded last Monday when Ventura GA was released).

So perhaps you can try the dongle.

No issues with mine here on Bluetooth, and Im on the 2018 Mini with the supposed terrible BT and wifi. Don't even know where I put the dongle, never had an issue and needed it. Have the Mac as comp #1 and my work Surface as #2 and go back and forth all day long between the two with the Master 3S and the matching MX Keys.

No issues for me with a 3S on my M1 iMac via Bluetooth.

Thanks all for the responses. Just FYI to anyone else reading this - resetting Bluetooth on my Mac seems to have fixed most of the issues.

I am having the same issue after upgrading to Ventura. I have a Mac Studio, how do I reset Bluetooth?

It's a terminal command I found here https://9to5mac.com/2022/10/13/how-to-fix-mac-bluetooth-issues/

The command is: `sudo pkill bluetoothd`

This solved my issue thank you. It seems to revert to the problem again after the Mac goes to sleep.

There is definitely a bug.

Yup, definitely seems to be an issue right after waking my Mac from sleep. I wonder if it's something that can be fixed by a Logitech software update or if it needs a macOS update. Unfortunately, my gut feeling is that this issue will be with us a while.

Yep I agree. At least your solution is very quick to implement and doesn’t require a restart.

Why is no one using the dongle❓❓⁉️

Now on Beta 2 with no issues.

I use the dongle and have had no problems, I avoid bluetooth whenever I can, I find that it drops connections, won't connect, etc. I just plug the Logitech dongle in the back of one of my monitors and forget about it.

I don't use the dongle because I've never had Bluetooth issues before Ventura and it takes up one of my USB-C ports on my studio display. Maybe though dongle is the way to go now.

I don't use the dongle as they don't supply one anymore with the MX Master 3S for Mac version.

^^^^I'm aware of that. Why they don't is a mystery. And why anyone would buy the Mac version when the "regular" version and the Mac version are the same price is a bigger mystery⁉️

Logitech sells the dongle separately for $15.

Thats exactly why I got the PC version of the mouse, it actually came with the dongle. Other than that, both are exactly the same.

Now the MX Keys IS different in that it has the Command and Option keys printed instead of Windows and Alt, but otherwise, that one's EXACTLY the same as well with one other exception.. The Mac version of the devices usually doesn't show up in Logitechs firmware updater.. My MX Keys gets it, but the mouse isn't supported so the Mac versions likely dont get FW updates if/when the Windows versions do..

Logitech has issued an Update for Options+ that's supposed to improve BlueTooth performance on a Mac. V1.29.6100

Last week I upgraded to Ventura. Now my Apple Keyboard and Mouse disconnect often after waking up from sleep.

There used to be a menu item to "Reset Bluetooth Module" in the menu bar. Is that gone now?

Killing the bluetoothd process didn't do it for me.

just an update really... I changed from my Mac Studio M1 Max to an M2 Max MacBook Pro and the mouse has been flawless so far. Not had to reset Bluetooth once.

I have the MX Mechanical Mini and the 3S, I've found the best solution for me was the mouse over bluetooth, and the keyboard with their Logi Bolt Receiver plugged into my doc. Have you tried using the Logi Bolt Receiver?

Yes unfortunately that menu was removed in Monterey. Apparently killing bluetoothd was equivalent to that menu though.

Nice! I hope there's an eventual fix that doesn't rely on upgrading to an M2 ?

I actually ended up switching back to my Magic Mouse and it's been a lot better reliability-wise. I get some cursor lag every now and then (which I never had in Monterey) but seems smoother than the MX Master 3S.
