1月14日消息，据MacRumors爆料， LG正在建造一条小型生产线，为苹果供应MicroLED屏幕。
爆料指出，苹果2025年的Apple Watch系列将会采用MicroLED屏，
LG相关产线会在2024年投入使用，采用MicroLED屏的Apple Watch新品会在2025年春季发布。
消息还称MicroLED屏版 Apple Watch尺寸达到了2.1英寸，比当前1.9英寸OLED版更大， 而且MicroLED屏亮度更高，功耗更低。
具体而言，Micro LED芯片尺寸小、集成度高和自发光等特点, 在显示方面与LCD、OLED相比在亮度、分辨率、对比度、能耗、使用寿命、响应速度和热稳定性等方面具有更大的优势。
更重要的是，理论上MicroLED面板可以随意拼接组装，你可以得到任意大小的MicroLED显示器， 所以它并不仅仅是显示器、电视市场的救星，还是手机行业、可穿戴设备的救星。
一直以来，手机续航都受困于显示屏的功耗而无法明显提高，而MicroLED面板的功耗只有同等级OLED面板的50%，甚至可以提供更高的亮度。
