[General Discussion] QF001 (ROCO K706) Head Units with UIS 7862s (not FYT based)

Does the camera come on (or try to) when you shift into reverse? That would at least prove it working up to the CANBUS decoder.

While we are on the topic of CAN bus, has anyone been able to get their headunit to change or read the status of the heater controls? I see there are options for it in the CarAPP but mine doesn't do anything. I am able to see speed and fuel remaining as well as open doors, parking brake and reverse.

Any idea what port the CAN bus is connected to? I wonder if other CAN apps can be made to work with it.

My climatronic state isn't read either. Rest works as you describe + headlight detection.

Does headlight detection come from CAN? I don't have that feature so I guess I won't get it. I was really hoping to be able to see what the heater settings were though because it is kinda hard to tell what you are setting the knob to on my car.

It ain't that spectacular. The headlight detection activates the backlighting behind my physical knobs (VW Ossuret model) the same way my cockpit backlights turn on when switching on my headlights. It must be via CAN

As for my climatronic is has backlighting and digital temp indication and all so I can read out the state/temp even at night. But for what I've learned via VW forums the climatronic has it own dedicated CAN connections to temp sensors in the car etc...

This is perhaps a dumb question but I'm not an expert on car audio interfaces. Is it possible to power this up to test and configure prior to pulling my dash apart?
