Elon Musk has hired two of his cousins to work at Twitter
Elon Musk hired two cousins to work at Twitter, two people familiar with the matter told Insider.
Andrew Musk is working on software-engineering projects, while James Musk is "a fixer type."
Elon Musk took over Twitter in late October and has since laid off thousands of staff.
Elon Musk has hired family members to work at Twitter's San Francisco headquarters, two people familiar with the matter told Insider's Kali Hays.
His cousins James Musk and Andrew Musk – sons of the billionaire's uncle on his father's side – now appear to be full-time Twitter employees.
Andrew Musk works on software-engineering projects, while James Musk is more of as "a fixer type," helping Elon Musk on various tasks, one insider said.
The world's richest man has also brought in staff from his other companies, including engineers from Tesla and The Boring Company.
Others include his attorney Alex Spiro and his right-hand man Jared Birchall, who runs Musk's family office, Excession. They are among Musk confidantes who have been sleeping at Twitter's HQ after some office space was converted into bedrooms in light of his "hardcore" ultimatum.
San Francisco building inspectors are reportedly launching an investigation, according to a tweet from Ted Goldberg, a senior editor at KQED, San Francisco's public radio station.
Since Elon Musk took over Twitter in late October, about 70% of the 7,500-strong workforce staff have been laid off, fired or resigned.
Representatives for both Twitter and the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection didn't immediately respond to requests for comment by Insider.

2 Bank Stocks to Buy Before the Bear Market Is Over
All of the major indexes fell into bear market territory at various points this year with the Nasdaq Composite taking one of the bigger hits. Many Wall Street experts expect the bear market, or at the very least a correction, to stay with us well into 2023 as a recession looms. Analysts at Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) said the S&P 500 could fall to 3,240 by April, which would be a roughly 18% decline from current levels, before climbing back to around 4,000 by the end of the year -- which is essentially where it is now.
