由于市场需求下滑，PC领域也遭遇寒冬，作为龙头的Intel也难免感受到了寒气，前不久提出了削减成本的要求，爱尔兰的工厂也开始自愿性的无薪休假。
但是这并不会动摇Intel在先进工艺上重夺第一的决心，Intel副总裁、技术开发主管Ann Kelleher日前在采访中透露了Intel在这方面的进展。
Intel当前量产的是Intel 7工艺，接下来的是Intel 4（等效4nm）工艺，首次使用EUV光刻工艺，已经准备量产。
再往后是Intel 3（等效3nm）工艺，是Intel 4的改进版，同时也是Intel大力推进用于代工的先进工艺，非常重要。
