苹果今年推出的iPhone 14系列手机支持了卫星通信，该功能在11月中旬正式上线，这刚开通没几天就立功了，成功拯救了美国阿拉斯加州的一名iPhone用户。
据阿拉斯加公共安全部发布的报告显示，当地时间12月1日凌晨2点，
一名搁浅的雪地摩托司机在他的iPhone上使用卫星紧急求助功能后，成功被阿拉斯加州警察营救。
苹果紧急响应中心向西北北极区搜救部门提供了被困男子的确切GPS坐标，最终四名志愿者组成的小组成功追踪到被困者。
11月16日，苹果宣布即日起向美国和加拿大的iPhone 14系列用户提供卫星紧急求救（SOS）服务，没信号的情况下也能紧急通信。
