Google Messages beta users get end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for group chats

  • December 3, 2022

Group conversations will have a banner that reads, “This chat is now end-to-end encrypted,” and the send button will have a lock icon. The Group details page will also have information on it.

As a result, while your RCS chats are being sent and received, Google (or third parties) cannot view their content.
