北京时间10月29日凌晨6点，NASA的猎户座飞船飞到了距离地球43.2万公里(268563英里)的地方，成为迄今和地球最遥远的载人飞船 ——当然这次它没有带真人。
当时，它距离月球接近7万公里，正处于第13个任务日，正好是为期25.5天的任务的一半。
12月1日，在第15个任务日，阿尔忒弥斯1号任务管理团队一致决定，猎户座飞船可以离开待了5天的月球远逆行轨道(DRO)，将在2日凌晨6点53分点火，进入返回地球的轨道。
就在今天，猎户座飞船还利用欧洲服务模块上的6个辅助推进器，按计划执行了一次时长95秒的电话，以维持轨道。
