苹果公司及其供应商的多元化行动，包括增加在印度和越南的投资，这些举动也引发了外界的猜测，但分析师和学者们指出，在未来许多年里，苹果仍将高度依赖中国供应链。
康奈尔大学副教授Eli Friedman表示："中国的供应链不会在一夜之间消失。尽管预计（苹果供应链）多元化会加速，但对这些公司而言，苹果想要离开还不现实 。”
很现实的一个问题就是，富士康生产了全球大约70%的iPhone。这一直是苹果成为世界上最赚钱的智能手机供应商的一个关键特征。
