I'm Quan, one of Mount2 Speak founding team members.

Mount2 Speak is aimed at helping students to improve their English speaking skills. Our product provides analysis for users' speeches and gives them advice to improve their performance.

I'm currently studying in Australia, an English-speaking country. Before going here, I thought my English was enough to communicate with other people. However, my bad pronunciation made me run into awkward situations in the first few months. It really hurt my confidence and deter me from asking my professors during lectures. That was when I realized the importance of fluence and confidence in speaking. Hence, when Tuan told me about the idea of this product, I immediately jumped on the bandwagon because I know I'm not the only international student having trouble speaking English.

With Mount2 Speak, every student from non-English speaking countries can speak English more fluently and confidently.

Hello Product Hunt! I’m Tuan, a founder of Mount2 Speak. I used to be very ignorant of my just-enough-to-get-by speaking skill, until I started my internship in the U.S. last summer. There, I was surrounded with people from all over the world and needed to communicate everything in English. My bad pronunciation, worsened by my decreasing level of confidence as I received discouraging judgment from others, has led me to a point where I felt extremely hesitant to speak up. If only I had someone, or somewhere, to help me practice speaking anytime, anywhere I was available, and without criticism. That was a big motivation for me to start working on Mount2 Speak. I wanted to build a nurturing environment for everyone, including me, to practice speaking at our own pace and still get the feedback we need for improvement. “Practice makes perfect” they say, and Mount2 Speak will ensure you make the most out of your practice by removing all the possible constraints — time conflicts with a mentor, lack of budget, and all the hurtful criticism. For me personally, Mount2 Speak is something I dreamed of having back when I was in high school. As I got exposed to several extracurricular opportunities besides academics and got to know many talented peers who excelled at public speaking, I quickly realized how important and powerful good public speaking skills could be. With my tight budget, I couldn't afford a coach or a mentor for speaking, so I struggled a lot to practice speaking on my own by... speaking in front of a mirror (of which my parents and siblings used to made fun every time they spotted me doing so). Honestly, at many times along the way, I felt very lonely and lost. I just wished that I could have a companion to cheer me up and give me constructive criticism. This motivated me to join Tuan in building an AI speaking companion that can help people struggling with speaking skills like me in the past.
