Buckaroo Banzai Wiki
Red Lectroids are inter-dimensional aliens who threatened planet Earth in the 1984 movie The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. They are the same species as the Black Lectroids but are very hostile and organized like a military dictatorship. Their homeworld is Planet 10.
In the film, the Red Lectroids' hated leader John Whorfin was described as a bloodthirsty, evil monster who along with the rest of his followers was cast into the formless void of the 8th dimension. However, some of them escaped and posed as humans, the owners and operators of Yoyodyne Propulsion Systems. Eventually, Yoyodyne constructed an escape vessel so the Red Lectroids could return to Planet 10 but the ship was destroyed before they could do so.
