This is an important app, and and I'm grateful that the app is available, nevertheless the niche is specific. It's so important to have this peace of mind.

I plan to use it not only for myself, but also to recommend it to elder people in my family. Waiting for Android to expand userbase 🙌🏻

Great job on the product launch!

Hello everyone!

I launched Safe Solo this week, and am hoping to get some initial feedback from Product Hunt folks!

Safe Solo is a pretty simple checking in and alerting app. It tries to answer the question: "If something happened to me, how long would it be before anyone knew?"

Here's how it works: - You check in regularly (typically daily) by pressing a button - You get notifications to remind you - You designate one or more people who will be alerted, should you fail to check in - Alerts go out even if your phone is not connected to the internet, or is no longer working. They are sent by our server in the cloud.

Here are some use cases I had in mind when building this initial version: - People living alone with pets, who want to be sure their furry friends will always be looked after. - University students living away from home, who want to give family members confidence that they're OK. - Solo travelers, who similarly want to reassure their people that they are OK. - Folks on their own for the first time in the big city.

The app is free to download, and free to use, during these initial months. Later on, a low-cost annual subscription will be required to use the service.

This is definitely a specific niche, but I think there are people for whom a check-in workflow does make sense. The app could take various directions from here. Feedback, thoughts, and ideas will be super valuable to me, and much appreciated!
