Proactively monitor marketplace conversations

After building marketplaces in the past, one thing we've realized is that once the flywheel of a marketplace starts going, it quickly becomes an operational nightmare.

One growth challenge for fast growing marketplaces (especially P2P ones like eBay, Airbnb, etc) is keeping an eye on every conversation between merchants and customers (or host/guest or any other supply/demand). Since the standard marketplace business model is to take a commission on each transaction, any sale that occurs outside of the platform means lost revenue. This means marketplace operators are incentivized to monitor conversations between merchants and customers to ensure sales are not being coordinated off-platform (also known as ‘platform leakage’ or ‘disintermediation’).

Marketbase is a tool that we wish we had while working on marketplaces in the past. Marketbase helps fast growing marketplaces proactively monitor conversations and identifying repeat bad actors. We do this by processing all marketplace conversations through AI and keyword matching to auto-flag messages with intent for disintermediation or harassment for marketplace operators to review. We've also made it very easy for marketplaces to get started by using our no-code integrations with popular messaging services and marketplace platforms.

It's a bit of a niche tool at the moment but excited to launch Marketbase on PH and happy to answer questions!
