Add four monitors to any MacBook with new HDMI adapter from Plugable

Your M1 or M2 MacBook can handle a wall full of monitors with the Plugable Quad HDMI Adapter.

Plugable’s new Quad HDMI Adapter can add up to four displays to a MacBook, even even ones that would otherwise only support only a single external monitor.
The USB-C accessory is even portable.

Four extra displays with this MacBook HDMI adapter
The base model Apple M1 and M2 processors are easily powerful enough for average users but can only handle two displays. For MacBooks built around this chip, that’s the screen built into the notebook plus a single external display. The Plugable Quad HDMI Adapter laughs at that limitation and lets users add 4x that many external screens.
It includes two pairs of HDMI ports, each of which can run a 1920-by-1080 display at 60Hz.
Full functionality does require that the Silicon Motion InstantView application be installed on the Mac, though. The app is available from Plugable for free. (Note: This is different from the DisplayLink app.)
The adapter is 6.8 inches by 4.9 in. by 1.1 inches, making it relatively portable. Its 6-inch integrated USB-C cable stows away in the bottom of the device.
Price and availability
The Plugable Quad HDMI Adapter (USBC-768H4) launched Tuesday. It’s available now from Amazon for $119 with a $10 off coupon.

The accessory is compatible with macOS 11 and newer, as well as Windows 10 and newer. There’s even a USB-C-to-USB-A adapter for PCs included in the box.
Anyone who needs an additional 4K monitor can consider the HyperDrive Dual 4K HDMI adapter instead.
