科幻题材MMO游戏《星际公民》众筹资金已超过5亿美元，可谓是吸金怪兽。而开发商Cloud Imperium Games雄心勃勃，想为游戏加入更多内容，这也导致该作成为了一款永远处于开发阶段的游戏，似乎不会发布正式版了。
在最近的CitizenCon直播活动上，Cloud Imperium Games老板兼《星际公民》创意总监Chris Roberts透露，《星际公民》已有超410万注册账号，其中有170万名玩家购买了这款游戏。
最近几个月，《星际公民》玩家活跃度有显著提升。2022年《星际公民》平均日活跃用户超5万人，高于去年的3.2万人，在线人数峰值达13万人，日活跃用户的日平均游戏时间为三小时。到目前为止，2022年玩家总游戏时间已超过3600万个小时。
此前《星际公民》众筹资金已突破5亿美元，支持者超过400万人，可见该作的热度非常高。遗憾的是，官方就是不想公布游戏正式发售日期。
