苹果官网显示：iPhone 14 Plus原本将被命名为“iPhone 14 Max”
苹果网站上新发现的将 iPhone 14 Plus 称为“iPhone 14 Max”的引用表明，苹果最初非 Pro 版 6.7 英寸设备的名称有意采用“iPhone 14 Max”，但是后来苹果公司改变了主意。
荷兰博客 iCreate 发现，在苹果公司网站上的两个例子中，苹果将 iPhone 14 Plus 称为“iPhone 14 Max”。首先，在一份帮助用户识别 iPhone 的支持文档中，苹果将 iPhone 14 Plus 机型五种颜色图像命名为“iPhone-14-Max-colors”。
其次，在提供公司产品合规性和监管信息的页面上，苹果清楚地列出了“iPhone 14 Max”，以及 iPhone 14、iPhone 14 Pro 和 iPhone 14 Pro Max。
在此前密集的 iPhone 14 系列爆料中，苹果 iPhone 14 Max 型号频频出现。直到苹果 iPhone 发布活动前一周，有爆料才表明这款机型被称为“iPhone 14 Plus”，这是自 iPhone 8 以来苹果首次重新使用“Plus”名称。
