Vivo X Fold+ arrives to overcome the Xiaomi Mix Fold2

Vivo X Fold+

For some, it’s a little intriguing to see Vivo launching another foldable smartphone. After all, the company’s first take into the segment came less than six months ago. Well, with the arrival of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, and new foldables featuring this SoC, Vivo decided to upgrade its foldable. It makes sense, after all, other foldable like the Mi MIX Fold 2 could be considered a better option due to the new chipset. With that in mind, the company is introducing the Vivo X Fold+.

Vivo X Fold+ specifications

Previously known as “S”, the new “Plus” variant comes with an all-new processor. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC promises 30% more energy efficiency and 10% more performance. The difference is significant, and all companies are moving immediately to this chipset. If the chipset isn’t enough for you, then Vivo also brings a new fancy Red colorway. The company is also upgrading the battery department.

The Vivo X Fold+ also comes with a slightly larger 4,730 mAh battery. That’s a slight upgrade, after all, the older model has a 4,600 mAh capacity. If we take in mind the extra efficiency, then the phone will offer longer endurance. Moreover, the phone now supports 80 W charging instead of 66W. Hence, users can get 70% of the juice in 18 minutes. A full charge will take around 35 minutes. The phone also brings wireless charging at 50W.

Vivo X Fold+

In terms of design, the Vivo X Fold+ retains the features of its predecessor. For instance, it packs an 8-inch foldable panel with Ultra Thing Glass tech. It offers up to 120 Hz refresh rate. Of course, for energy efficiency, it can change between 1 Hz to 120 Hz depending on the content. The cover display comes with a 6.53-inch diagonal. Interestingly, both panels offer ultrasonic fingerprint readers. So you won’t have issues unlocking it no matter if it’s folded or unfolded.

The Vivo X Fold+ hinge can stay open at several angles. So you can pick the best option for multimedia and video calls. Vivo has also optimizations for the stereo speakers. Hence, the audio will always be immersive and clear no matter the usage angle.
