That means you flashed a wrong model firmware and you need to flash the correct model firmware for your phone

I have a German G2 16GB but everytime i try to run the flash tool the lg mobile support tool (?) opens up and gives me a message like this "Upgrade stopped due to an error
To try upgrade again follow steps bellow
1. Disconect the phone from PC and remove the battery from the phone.
2. Insert the battery back and reconect the phone to PC.
3. Turn off the phone.
4. Press retry button bellow to start the upgrade."
I'm running a custom rom currently. What is it that i'm doing wrong?

P.S. Never mind, i tried the tot method

hi guys...made a full wipe and then cant get to recovery mode by pressing buttons.
so i tried this 3 methods
- LG flash tool 2014 stopps at 2%
-tot flash tool 1.8.1 is not starting...tried to unplug a lot
- LGUP says in the first poup unknown model (com41 yes)
Install the file with the DLL name in them first and then LGUP_Install_Ver_1_14_3 Then copy the folder "common" to C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model (this should resolve unknown error)

what means this...where is the common folder?

any tipps how i cant geht my lg g2 back to life? only download mode working

Depends.

If you flashed wrong model firmware you most likely lost your EFS. and without a backup only fix is motherboard replacement.

If you have a “D802” you might not actually have a D802

Hmmm, the file i used was 'UK 16GB D80230b_00.kdz' which was for the D802. I couldn't have flashed a wrong model firmware.

But do you have an D802 that is the question. Did you buy your phone new direct from LG or used or refurbished? Used G2s are almost always sold as wrong models or tampered with

Ah, that i didnt know.

This was sent as a replacement device from the insurance company. I have run Lineage, specifically the D802 version, for a number of years.

It definitely is a D802

Hi guys, I know this is not the right spot to ask it...
I already installed a LineageOS ROM and Worked all fine, but when I'm trying to install some Magisk Modules and rebooted my device it get stuck at LG logo... I can access Download mode but not my TWRP (last version) recovery.
Any solution to my problem? Just a little help...

I'm trying all ways to back to Stock but not sucess...

FlashTool from LG give me error at 2% or 4%.
The new FlashTool give error Cross DLL - I can't find the right DLL to LG G2 D805, it gives the error because only DLL avaiable is D802. Any tip to find the correct one?
LGUP only gives me Unknow device...

Pelase, I'm desperate!!!
Thank you so much anyway!

I'm in the same situation, but I can access only Download Mode, not System, Not Recovery... And I can't make the Stock Roms programs to work!
Any tip?

Thanks to all that tried to help me! I appreciate it a lot! Thank you so much!

My only solution was to try short the capacitors following this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/lg-g2-unbrickable-fix-real-hard-brick-t2904404

Thanks God I don't need to mess with the board!

My problem was that I tried this ROM LineageOS 17.1 with latest version of TWRP Blastgator. Everything was running fine until I flashed Magisk and installed some Mods, then the device rebooted and I get stuck at logo!
No System and no Recovery access, only Download mode! :crying:

Then I followed this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

I used to install some custom ROMs like Cloudy G2, LineageOS, Resurretion Remix and AOSPX Pie and tried to this new one. I never had any problems!
This time I realized that my device was forever bricked, my last hope was to short the capacitors but I tried all ways to back to Stock because in Downlaod Mode my device was recognized by Windows.

I tried this in Windows 10 x64 but no success, then I formatted an old HD with Windows 7 x64 to try again!

Old Flash Tool get me stuck at 2% or 4%... no success in both system with all LG drivers available... NO SUCCESS!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53313255&postcount=5400

LGUp only gives Unknow Device and never start but it's seens the device on port 41 - that I changed following the tutorial.

My last hope was New Flash Tool but I needed TOT file for my Device - D805 not D802 and the correct DLL. initially I didn't find anywhere... Like this guy:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583851

I give a lot of tries... a lot of different files, DLLs, tried .KDZ and .DZ, only errors and errors... a lot of "Failed to Load()"...
I'm getting frustrated until I see this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142

And found this mine of gold of Downloads:
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/

And again, thanks to all, there is a hope in the D805 folder!
I get the TOT File: BIN_LGD805AT-00-V10a-724-05-AUG-23-2013-16G.zip and tried the LG Firmware Extractor (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575) to get a new DLL (LGUP8974.dll).

And voilà, like a charm that WORKED!!!!!!!!! :fingers-crossed::highfive:
It installed Jelly Bean the with the Official LG Updater I installed Kitkat and finally Lollipop.
Later I'll try this LineageOS Rom again!

I hope I can help someone in need like me!!

I thank this forum a lot!!
And please excuse my English!

Thank you so much!

Thank You!

This still works in 2020 for my G2. Using it as a backup after breaking my Pixel XL, waiting on my Pixel 5. I was unable to perform a factory reset on this refurb G2. Got the Demigod error as well as a constant nagging error in the UI related to the Contacts app.

Hi, I've recently decided to put my partner's LG G2 to use, which has barely been used since I bought it years ago.

It was working perfectly fine, however the family link wasn't compatible with kit kat, so I decided to update it to lollipop.

That's where the problems started... After flashing the rom, the touch screen isn't working correctly - any touches are way off the mark.

I've spent days on this, flashed various ROMs, used different cables without success.

Can anyone provide any assistance please?

The phone is not rooted, and is an international LG G2 32gb from Hong Kong (purchased via eBay)
Your LG Flash Tool links both direct to OceanHost.eu. Using either Firefox or Edge, I could not DL either file. LG Flash Tool 2014 tool and Flash Tool V1.8 whether found on 'Android File Host' or 'Google Drive' (when searching for alternate links) successfully downloaded each file, but both had a virus. I downloaded a patched LG Flash Tool 2.0.1.6 from here instead.

Sorry about that. Ocean Host link is fixed. The security certificate expired and has been fixed.

Can't speak for other sites but some virus alerts for these tools are false positive. Chrome will almost always complain when downloading any.dll file

    LGUP Method:
Flashes both KDZ & TOT files:
    Thanks to @shakeyabooti for LGUP!

    Download LGUP from HERE
Install the file with the DLL name in them first and then LGUP_Install_Ver_1_14_3 Then copy the folder "common" to C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model (this should resolve unknown error)
Make sure you have downloaded the required KDZ file MM or LP
Open LGUP on your computer "make sure your phone is plugged in"
ARE YOU HAVING TROUBLE WITH LGUP NOT SEEING YOUR MOBILE?
Try this....... take the back off your mobile so you can get at the battery. Connect your mobile via USB. Start LGUP, if it does not see your phone DO NOT DISCONNECT, DO NOT RESTART OR TURN OFF LGUP. Take out the battery and then put it back in.......let the phone restart on its own. LGUP should now see it.

    LG Drivers: in First post

TO DO A FULL WIPE AND INSTALL MM - Open the LGUP on your computer. FILE PATH point it towards the MM KDZ.
    IMPORTANT!!!!!!! shut down LGUP!
Now open LGUP again - you will notice that the MM KDZ will still be showing in the FILE PATH section. Select REFURBISH and make sure BIN file is ticked. Press Start. Make cup of tea and be patient

TO GO BACK TO LP FROM MM - Open LGUP on your computer, click on FILE PATH and point it towards your LP KDZ. Close LGUP and re-open LGUP. Make sure you select REFURBISH this will do a FULL wipe, tick BIN file. Press Start. Make cup of tea and be patient
