About the speakers:

Majid Baa Wafaa is a Senior Power Systems Developer at Emerson Automation Solutions. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Optimisation Techniques and Operational Technology) from École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS), as well as postdoctoral training at HEC Montréal and ÉTS. He has worked in various research teams as an optimisation researcher and an operational technology scientist. HIs top four research interests are optimisation, AI application, system modelling, and simulation.

Neda Navidi is a professional AI researcher at École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS). She received her Ph.D. in AI from ÉTS, as well as postdoctoral training at McGill University, HEC Montréal, and Polytechnique Montréal. She has worked as a machine learning researcher, applied research scientist, and data scientist in various research teams at various companies. She is an expert in deep learning, reinforcement learning, imitation learning, supervised/unsupervised learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and time-series data.
