Wonder if this will be retrospectively applied or will we need to refund and rebuy AppleCare+? Much better being unlimited in my opinion for when travelling

Well that’s good. I just had a $5000 MBP that hit the pavement completely replaced. It still costs $300 per incident, but it’s a lot better than the alternative.

I'm hoping this was a joke...What kind of configuration did you buy???

Fully maxed out 2019 16” MBP, i9, 8tb, 5600m, 64gb. The last, most future-proofed portable Apple computer they’ll make capable of running professional cad software. It was mint. I just got a nice new designer bag for it, slung it over my shoulder, got halfway across the street and the little cloth tab that the shoulder strap clasped to just tore right off and the whole works smashed down on to the road. A few patient cars learned a couple new words that day. I’m machining a ruggedized tpu & air-cushioned wooden hardcase for it next week instead.

Wow.. okay.. Good luck with that. I guess that 8TB is needed for CAD files, which are presumably quite large?

It’s funny, bc the cad files themselves are actually pretty tiny. But the computational & graphics loads they place on the system are huge and a lot of the files they generate for other uses are enormous. Its amazing how such a small file can generate so much trouble.

How? This is what I see
It might depend on your location. Maybe that's only available for now in the US. I see it on all of my covered devices too.

Edited: actually according to this Appleinsider article, it's international.
