Let me run a couple facts by you:

Blow your mind? Never think about it? I was in the same boat as you up until about 3 years ago.

Now you may be thinking that it's energy well spent, or it doesn't seem unreasonable. You would be correct. I agree with you. You don't have to change my mind.

All I'm saying is, is that when you "look underneath the hood" of websites across the internet you will be amazed at how they can actually be optimized. THE INTERNET IS NOT GOING AWAY! It's going to get bigger, and there's a lot of room for improvement.

That's why web developers & designers need to keep it in the forefront of their mind to optimize their work using less energy intensive best practices- because it's most likely better for your users and most definitely better for our planet.
