Test environments built for Kubernetes
Huge thanks to @mwseibel and @ycombinator for the hunt! 🙏
👋 Hey Product Hunt Fam!
I’m Arjun, Co-founder and CEO of Signadot. Anirudh and I are very excited to share Signadot with all of you today!
😎 TL;DR We’re building a Kubernetes-based solution that enables environments, called Sandboxes, to test microservices early in the development lifecycle. Sandbox environments are lightweight and spin up in seconds as they share resources smartly under the hood. This makes it cost-effective to spin up 1000s of ephemeral environments to scale testing.
🤔 The problem with testing microservices
Microservices have many runtime dependencies and require a pre-production (staging) environment to test in real-world conditions. However staging environments are typically shared which creates a bottleneck for developers. They experience long feedback loops and wasted cycles.
😅 Enter Signadot
Signadot Sandboxes are virtual environments in Kubernetes built using application-level multi-tenancy. As these lightweight environments are resource efficient you can spin up a large number of them on a single Kubernetes cluster. Companies like Facebook and Uber have built similar (but bespoke) systems internally, and we’re thrilled to offer a Kubernetes-native solution for everyone else.
The first use-case we’re addressing out of the box is testing. DevOps teams can integrate Signadot within CI pipelines to automate the creation of Sandbox environments to test every code change in a high-fidelity environment before merging.
🤓 How this helps your team:
- No need to write mocks. Test in a real environment. - Spin up new environments in seconds. - Enable testing of 100s of microservices at low cost - Ship fast with fewer rollbacks
🤩 We can't wait to hear what you think!
