I’m Théo, co-founder and CEO of elba.

We take security very seriously at elba and from the very beginning of our journey we decided to become compliant and obtain SOC 2 certifications.

There are a lot of vendors that can help you streamline your SOC 2 and other compliance processes (and they do a great job!) but their role is to tell you what you have to do, rather than do it for you.

For example, they’ll tell you all the softwares that your employees use, but once they give you that list it’ll be up to you to search for the security certifications for all of them. You’ll have to go on the company website, find the security page, then find the certifications, and if you’re lucky you’ll be able to download it directly, but most of the time they will ask you to mail a specific email.

And knowing that on average an employee in a startup uses around hundred softwares, you can imagine pretty quickly how painful it is to search for all of them.
