How to turn off Snapchat notifications in 2 ways

It's easy to get overwhelmed by notifications, especially if you're active on social media and get inundated with messages, stories, and posts. To help alleviate some of your notification overload, consider turning off Snapchat notifications — and you can choose to disable some notifications that aren't especially important to you or all of them. 

How to selectively disable some Snapchat notifications

Most of the time, you probably don't want to disable all your Snapchat notifications. You may just want to turn off the ones that aren't a high priority for you. 

1. Start the Snapchat app and tap your account icon at the top left. 

2. Tap the Settings icon (it's shaped like a gear) at the top right.

3. In the My Account section, tap Notifications. 

4. Choose the notifications you want to turn off. If you're using an iPhone, swipe the buttons to the left for each kind of notification you want to disable. On Android, clear the checkbox for each item you want to disable.

How to turn off all Snapchat notifications on iPhone

If you want to disable all your Snapchat notifications, you can turn off all the notification options in the Snapchat app, but there's an easier one-tap way to do it — use the Settings app on your iPhone. 

1. Start the Settings app and scroll down to Snapchat in the list of apps. 

2. Tap Snapchat.

3. Tap Notifications. 

4. Disable all Snapchat notifications by swiping the button to the left.

How to turn off all Snapchat notifications on Android

Likewise, you can disable all Snapchat notifications at once using the Android Settings app.

1. Start the Settings app and tap Notifications. 

2. On the Notifications page, tap App settings.

3. Disable Snapchat notifications by swiping the button to the left. 

Quick tip: If you don't see Snapchat as an option on this page, make sure that the drop-down menu at the top of the page is set to All apps and not Most recent.
