Our oral health is a black box. Some of us suffer from cavities all the time while others have chronic bad breath, and nothing ever seems to work.
You *might* go to a dentist every 6 months (40% of US adults don’t, by the way) for an X-ray or observational screening, but those only detect the symptoms of existing disease. By then, you may need an expensive and invasive procedure like a cavity filling or root canal. Oral diseases are the most prevalent conditions on the planet and linked to chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and mental illness.
The standard of care revolves around reactively treating disease instead of proactively managing health.
🦠 Bristle analyzes your oral microbiome to help you monitor & improve your oral health from home
Oral health is rooted in the oral microbiome - the bacteria, fungi and viruses that live inside of our mouths. Some of these microbes are good and help prevent disease while others are harmful and lead to conditions like bad breath, tooth decay and gum inflammation.
We analyze your oral microbiome to provide direct insights into your oral health. Each oral microbiome is unique and your oral care should be, too. We tailor recommendations based on your oral microbiome to take the guesswork out of oral health. Our database is first-of-its-kind developed through our partnership with the University of the Pacific Dental School.
👅 The Bristle experience
Send a saliva sample to our lab. You’ll get your oral health report including all of the microbes we identified and their association to different conditions. We’ll also match you to diet, hygiene and product recommendations based on your results. These can range from specific ingredients like nano-hydroxyapatite, to hygiene changes like brushing frequency or to dietary additions like nitrate. You can review your results with an oral health expert via 1:1 coaching to get even more personalized.
