New: Private endpoint support for all major cloud providers
Private endpoints allow the connection from your application to your ArangoDB Cloud deployment to stay entirely within the cloud service provider’s network and remain unexposed to the public internet.
Last year we introduced support for private endpoints for Microsoft Azure. In June, we announced that private endpoints were GA for ArangoDB Cloud deployments running on AWS. Today, we are happy to share that we now support all three major cloud providers with the addition of private endpoints for Google Cloud Platform.
Please note: the private endpoint feature is only available for enterprise-tier ArangoDB Oasis organizations. Contact your account executive to know more about this feature, or get in touch with us here.
From the Oasis Garage: Multi-region backup
Backing up your ArangoDB Cloud data is a good idea for obvious reasons. ArangoDB Oasis currently supports periodic and manual backups to a single region. We’re currently working on supporting multi-region backups in order to help your ArangoDB Cloud deployments be more fault tolerant. Multi-region backups allow you to quickly restart your cluster by leveraging your backup from a different region if the zone of your chosen cloud provider experiences an outage.
We expect multi-region backups to be available in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
What Version of ArangoDB Should I Run on Oasis?
There are multiple versions of ArangoDB currently available on Oasis: we have a recommended version for people who want to use the latest features of ArangoDB (Edge), and a recommended version for everyone else (Default). This guidance will shift over time, of course – today’s Edge release is tomorrow’s Default.
