thereI know, I just thought it would be easier to document everything on github.

Bruh, is not. You ve just replaced zImage, nothing special. Check my git profile there and see how a twrp tree should looks. Regards, Dragos

He simply has no clue on how to build a TWRP as he doesn't even know differences from SOCs for A52 4G and A52S 5G... ^^

You can have a nice car body but it is useless if you don't have the right engine with the right setups !...

Yes you are right, I never did anything like this before, so what are you implying? I just shared that I at least booted into TWRP.

I am just saying the same thing as I said the first time I responded to you : Don't release anything before you tested it yourself and before you are sure your twrp is really working and you shouldn't considered others as your "guinea pig" !!!!

This is not a game or a challenge specially when you have no experience in building such a tool just as you admitted it yourself now !

Just before I published my tutorial on how to root the A52S 5G phone I spent many days in testing it in different ways : rooting it, restocking my phone and re-rooting again and again to be sure I was not doing mistakes.

Even after I was sure it was working I totally updated my tutorial taking into account feedback from users to clear up some parts of the tutorial that was not understood or because the Magisk version and some modules have changed.

I have myself the complete twrp tree to build a working twrp for A52 4G phone and the device tree for A52S 5G but I know there is still a lot of work before I can build a working twrp for our phone as I don't considered this as a competition to be "the first one" ... ^^
I know I have to build this twrp from source code and not by swapping incompatible images as you did.

I also tested the no touch twrp but my phone was bootlooping into this custom recovery and thus I had to re-stock completely my phone and I lost some of my apps and data even though I did a full backup. So I also warned other users not to use it with clear explanation on the risk if they do install it even though some may be attempted to test it themself... ^^

I am a retired developer and sys-admin but that doesn't mean I know everything as building such a tool is also new to me, so I am taking my time to understand the whole logic as I don't want to mess up others' phone !

You forget that XDA "Developers" is made for "Developers", it's OK to post projects WIP as long as a disclaimer is posted and users are smart enough to read the disclaimer. Not everything needs to be working perfectly, it's completely fair to post your source and work in XDA even if it's not completed so that hopefully a more skilled developer can lend a hand with some of their experience and not be a complete a**** about it.

And no, I'm not only talking about you. There are some people that love pointing out how unexperienced you are and how you're very wrong about the work you did.

You made your guide to the general public and you made sure everything worked the way it's supposed to, and that's fine too, but don't expect everything posted in this site to be working flawless without any bugs, that's not what this site was created for.

We can all learn from each other and not turn this into an ego battle. We're supposed to encourage more people to learn, not discouraging them by telling them all they're doing is wrong.

Well said...although I'd like to point out that we should use respectful and courteous language.

Remember that since XDA is a non profit site, all work shared is voluntary. We pride ourselves on being one of the largest and most comprehensive platforms for Android development. However, because the work is free, it's important to note that most developers are working for free, putting their own time and effort into something they get very little for. In this regard, we must also remember that developers owe absolutely nothing to anyone, regardless of whether they receive donations.

Do not ask for ETAs or bug fixes. Reporting issues is fine, but do not expect a developer to immediately address an issue. They will do so on their own time at their own prerogative.

The best thing you can do to support our developers is show gratitude and appreciation for their hard work, and if you're so inclined, donate to support their projects.

You're right when you said "You forget that XDA "Developers" is made for "Developers"" but who in this section of XDA is a developer or an experienced modder ??? NO ONE !!!

For the 2 TWRP that were released in this thread their were done by people who have not a single experience in building such a project, they even didn't test it themself before I told them to do so and we all know the result !!!
There was even not a single disclaimer and even though there was one the least is to test it before releasing it and making sure it was working, probably not perfectly but at least WORKING, and not using other users as guinea pig...

Then you imply that everything that is posted in this site may not work perfectly and without any bug, it is true but it does not imply either to put voluntarily or involuntarily in danger all the users and their phones !

A real developer should never allow himself this kind of behavior and irresponsibility.

You finally said "We can all learn from each other and not turn this into an ego battle.".

BUT , I have no ego problems as I never was in competition with anyone and who asked for help when at least 2 or 3 of us told and warned the "dev" was doing it the wrong way ???
A TWRP or a custom recovery that could be used with physical key is the core project around which we could go any further, so no need of a Frankenstein custom recovery which would break most if not all of our phones...

I also remember someone responding me this way "Yes I have one I had just bought it and I need the boot.img and recovery.img from what I have learned from making other TWRPs Don't underestimate me"... and we also know the result... ^^

Encouraging more people to learn if fine but only when they have at least some minimum of background with a concrete project and when they are not putting the whole of us in danger !

Obviously we don't share the same concept of "developer" or of "development" and I will never encourage any one who has NOT a minimum of ethics and of maturity !

Are you kidding ???

Did you post this reaction in this thread ??? "better delete this suicidal bomb =)))"... ^^

And considering your success with your 2 custom roms for A52S 5G and Reno5 Lite/Oppo A94 : no comment... ^^
A real developer should never allow himself this kind of behavior and irresponsibility.

Dude, chill out. You're getting all bent out of shape over a simple disagreement.

First of all, I never said that everybody here is a developer, I said that people should be encouraged to learn and ask true developers to enrich their knowledge.

Maybe it was a mistake to post something in the forums without prior testing first, but the user that posted later rectified it by testing it and updated on progress.

Encouraging more people to learn if fine but only when they have at least some minimum of background with a concrete project and when they are not putting the whole of us in danger !

Put us in danger? Danger of what? You can't irreversibly kill a phone by flashing a simple recovery.img. You're acting like this will fry your motherboard.

Even recognized developers sometimes post untested things and have people here test their work. Sure, it may be easier for them to know what they're doing but anyone here who knows how to read know what they're putting their selves through.

I have to disagree with you that everything here should be tested and fully working. I myself have tested recoveries from other people who little by little worked up to having a fully working build.

Obviously we don't share the same concept of "developer" or of "development" and I will never encourage any one who has NOT a minimum of ethics and of maturity !

Development literally means the process of developing, i.e. something that's in development lol look it up.

How about instead of nitpicking things you either help or sit back and appreciate things. Your claiming all this knowledge yet so far all I hear is criticism. Teach, be constructive, be appreciative or be silent. Any of these please.

For what I know this is your first post in this section of XDA and considering your posts history what is your own contribution to the XDA community ??? ^^

So don't tell me what to do or how to behave when you don't know how much time I spent here in helping other users in different threads for A52S 5G and other devices !!!

Dude, chill out. You're getting all bent out of shape over a simple disagreement.
It's not a simple disagreement as we don't have the same definition of what a developer is (and its moral responsibility) !!!
First of all, I never said that everybody here is a developer, I said that people should be encouraged to learn and ask true developers to enrich their knowledge.
This is exactly what I'm complaining about : people should be encouraged to learn and ask true developer to enrich their knowledge BUT they shouldn't release anything before their work was fully tested by their own and to insure it is working without causing bad damages to other users' phone !
Maybe it was a mistake to post something in the forums without prior testing first, but the user that posted later rectified it by testing it and updated on progress.
And what was the progress ??? NONE !!!
Hopefully I warned others users not to use it or test it before the "author" did the test himself ...

He should have removed its and re-release it only when he was sure it was working without causing damages.
Put us in danger? Danger of what? You can't irreversibly kill a phone by flashing a simple recovery.img. You're acting like this will fry your motherboard.
I can't understand this casualness from you as even if motherboard can't be fried a hard bricked or soft bricked phone is already a big damage to most users and you know it as I had to repair the damages you cause with the non touch twrp you are sharing privately... ^^
Even recognized developers sometimes post untested things and have people here test their work. Sure, it may be easier for them to know what they're doing but anyone here who knows how to read know what they're putting their selves through.
Recognized developers are recognized developers even though I don't always agree with what they are doing and the way they are doing their "stuffs" but at least they are supposed to know how to fix the issues they created or generated
...
I have to disagree with you that everything here should be tested and fully working. I myself have tested recoveries from other people who little by little worked up to having a fully working build.
We disagree one another as we simply don't share the same "philosophy" and not the same experience !
This is also due to this attitude and due to flashalcolic users Samsung is becoming tougher and tougher with their after sale service and when they decided to included locked bootloader and Knox stuff when they were so relax at the beginning !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^^
Development literally means the process of developing, i.e. something that's in development lol look it up.

BUT once again THERE IS NO development in this case !!!!
