Microsoft Edge 104 Beta Now Available for Download

A new version of Edge browser is up for grabs

Microsoft Edge 104 has made its way to the beta channel as the next major update for the browser, so it’s now just a matter of time until it’s graduated to the stable channel as well.

Microsoft Edge 104 is therefore in the last testing phase, so it’s now just a matter of weeks until it gets the go-ahead for production devices.

As for what’s new in this new version of the browser, home users are unlikely to find anything very exciting, especially as the release appears to be focused on additional polishing the experience with the app.

On the other hand, Microsoft says it has included several new policies, but these obviously come in handy to enterprises and IT pros who manage computers where Edge browser is installed.

Here is the full list of new policies available in the new Microsoft Edge version:  

• AllowedDomainsForApps - Define domains allowed to access Google Workspace
• AskBeforeCloseEnabled - Get user confirmation before closing a browser window with multiple tabs
• BrowserCodeIntegritySetting - Configure browser process code integrity guard setting
• DoubleClickCloseTabEnabled - Double Click feature in Microsoft Edge enabled (only available in China)
• ImportOnEachLaunch - Allow import of data from other browsers on each Microsoft Edge launch
• QuickSearchShowMiniMenu - Enables Microsoft Edge mini menu
• PasswordManagerRestrictLengthEnabled - Restrict the length of passwords that can be saved in the Password Manager
• PDFXFAEnabled - XFA support in native PDF reader enabled
• TextPredictionEnabled - Text prediction enabled by default

If you want to install this new version of Microsoft Edge, it’s important to keep in mind it’s still a beta, so certain features may not work exactly as expected. If you want a more polished experience, you should just stick with the stable build that’s available on the supported platforms. Today’s update is live on Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android.
