半导体芯片工厂需要24小时生产，任何意外停工都会导致损失，之前出现在新闻报道中的意外多数是工厂起火、停电或者材料污染，这次日本芯片巨头瑞萨的工厂又停工了，原因是被雷劈了。
据瑞萨电子发布的公告，日本时间7月5日上午5时43分，因台风Aere在熊本市引发暴雨雷击，
公司位于当地的川尻工厂电线遭雷电击中，导致瞬间电压下降，造成该厂自7月5日起进行暂时性停工。
虽然工厂本身是有UPS不间断电源的，但是这次雷击导致的电压降低持续时间超过了过去10年发生的情况，因此瑞萨工厂大约90%的设备都要停工检修。
目前瑞萨的工厂已经开始重启，部分生产在7月6日就已经恢复，预计在11日才能恢复到被雷击之前的产能水平。
