The device is projected to launch in September
Apple’s component suppliers have reportedly started shipping parts for the upcoming iPhone 14, as the Cupertino-based tech giant is getting ready for the beginning of the production.
In other words, the iPhone 14 is now in a very advanced phase ahead of the highly anticipated launch in September, and now that suppliers have started shipping components, it’s all just a matter of time until Apple kicks off the mass production.
The components are being shipped to Foxconn, who will take care of the final assembly.
At this point, it’s not known when the mass production could start, but this typically happens in July or August.
Four iPhone models coming in September
Needless to say, Apple has remained completely tight-lipped on everything related to the iPhone 14, so we should just take today’s report with a pinch of salt.
However, the timing seems just about right, especially as we approach the debut of the iPhone 14.
Apple will introduce four new models this year, but as compared to the 2021 generation, a 5.4-inch device would no longer be offered. This is because the iPhone mini is being killed off, as Apple isn’t pleased with the sales recorded by the 5.4-inch form factor.
Furthermore, Apple will introduce an all-new iPhone 14 Max that will essentially serve as a larger version of the standard iPhone 14 model. It will come with a 6.7-inch screen.
It’s believed Apple is planning more big changes this year, including the demise of the notch. The Cupertino-based firm could therefore go for a punch-hole display similar to the ones used by Samsung on its flagship phones. The non-Pro models, however, are likely to stick with a notch, as Apple is using the screen upgrade as an incentive to get a premium model (iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max).
