A new Windows 10 feature update is just around the corner

Windows 10 to get a new feature update

Microsoft has promised to support Windows 10 until October 2025, and for users who can’t upgrade to Windows 11, this is obviously good news.

They are therefore provided with three more years to prepare for the switch to Windows 11, which in most cases comes down to buying a new device whose hardware can meet the system requirements for the new operating system.

Windows 10 is projected to receive a new feature update later this year, and Twitter user @he45076932 spotted the first references in the latest cumulative update.

More specifically, with a series of commands you should be able to enable what’s being called Windows 10 version 22H2, which is essentially a new feature update that should go live for Windows 10 later this year.

However, there’s little reason to be excited about this release. Most likely, the improvements will be minor, as Microsoft is just focusing on small polishing to keep Windows 10 up and running properly.

The Windows 10 end of support

When it announced the new Windows 11, Microsoft also promised it would continue to support Windows 10 until October 2025, especially as some devices aren’t allowed to upgrade to the new operating system.

“For customers who are using a PC that won’t upgrade, and who aren’t ready to transition to a new device, Windows 10 is the right choice. We will support Windows 10 through October 14, 2025 and we recently announced that the next feature update to Windows 10 is coming later this year. Whatever you decide, we are committed to supporting you and offering choice in your computing journey,” it said last year.

Microsoft hasn’t yet announced Windows 10 version 22H2, but of course, don’t expect anything big when the new feature update goes live.
