SAP Activate Content Updates for SAP S/4HANA Cloud

SAP Activate provides a clear guided methodology to deploy, adopt and extend new capabilities across your organization. The SAP Activate implementation Roadmap Viewer is a tool used by the implementation project team members to navigate the phases, deliverables, tasks and accelerators related to the SAP Activate.

The implementation roadmap is updated frequently to contain the latest scope, processes and accelerators. The content updates occur throughout the quarter with final changes coinciding with the cloud solution release cycle.

This blog summarizes the changes for the roadmap SAP Activate Methodology for S/4HANA Cloud.

June 20 Release Notes

1. Added two new tasks, Verify System Setting for Fit-to-Standard Workshop and Activate New Scope or Country/Region in Starter System via SAP Central Business Configuration, to deliverable, Fit-to-Standard System Preparation. These replace the deliverable, New Scope Activation via SAP Central Business Configuration.
2. Removed deliverable, New Scope Activation via SAP Central Business Configuration, and related tasks from Explore. See related change above.
3. Refreshed the Project Plan with the current content from the roadmap. Typically, this accelerator gets updated with each major release. To increase freshness, we will update 4 times per year.
4. Replaced task, Self-Enable on SAP S/4HANA Cloud, with 3 simplified tasks, Complete SAP S/4HANA Cloud Onboarding Learning Courses, Access the SAP Enterprise Support Value Map for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, and Join the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Implementation Learning Room.
5. Removed tasks, Document Preset Parameters for Manage Your Solution App and Document Scope Bundle for Manage Your Solution App. They are no longer relevant.
6. Updated the description and procedure in task, Ensure Project team Members Access to the SAP Learning Hub.
7. Updated task, Prepare Testing Prerequisites, with a new accelerator to the Automation Testing community.
8. Updated task, Collect Details for Customer-Driven Integrations, with a new procedure step and procedure note.

June 3 Release Notes

1. Removed tasks related to Manage Your Solution and the provisioning of the quality system. These are no longer relevant with SAP Central Business Configuration.
2. Removed dual instructions from Request the Production System and Transport Initial Change Project from Q-System to P-System. Removed qualifiers from multiple SAP Central Business Configuration tasks since they are now relevant to all projects getting new systems.
3. Renamed deliverable, Quality System Request / Initial Setup, to Initial Quality System Setup. Renamed task, Execute Initial Setup of the Quality System via SAP Central Business Configuration, to Execute Initial Setup of the Quality System.
4. Updated the task, Ensure Project Team Members Access to the SAP Learning Hub, with improved description and additional procedure steps.
5. Updated the OCM Customer Readiness Whitepaper in task, Execute the Cloud Mindset.

May 23 Release Notes

1. Replaced the two tables that included the Service names, Estimated Completion Duration and Last Date to Request from task, Prepare for a Release Upgrade, with a process step listing the dos and don’ts on transports, scope/country activation when planning project activities around upgrade period. Note that the tables were related to the older Manage Your Solution processes which are now obsolete and replaced with SAP Central Business Configuration.
2. Added 3 new procedure notes to task, Evaluate and Activate Feature from Continuous Delivery. Two are related to post upgrade testing and one to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Release Assessment and Scope Dependency (RASD)
3. Updated the general blogs link in task, Request SAP Cloud ALM Tenant, to be based on the SAP Cloud ALM tag and display results in date order.

May 8 Release Notes

April 25 Release Notes

1. Eliminated four unnecessary accelerators from task, Access Starter System and Reset Password. Eliminated references to the IAS (Identity Authentication Service) in the procedure. The IAS is initially setup with SAP Central Business Configuration.
2. Added a procedure step to task, Access the SAP Central Business Configuration, to include actions related to the initial access to the IAS.
3. Removed references to ‘quarterly’ release updates from several tasks. SAP currently releases upgrades 2 times per year but has increased the use of continuous feature delivery.
4. Renamed task, Test Preparation, to Prepare Testing Prerequisites.
5. Updated task, Organizational Structure – Conduct Workshop, to focus on the SAP Central Business Configuration process instead of the older Manage Your Solution process. Removed unnecessary accelerators. Add the procedure note that the organizational structure cannot be deleted once activated.

April 11 Release Notes

1. Renamed task, Prepare for Post Upgrade Testing by SAP, to Prepare for Post Upgrade Testing. Updated the description, procedure, and procedure notes.
2. Renamed task, View Post Upgrade Test Result, to Analyze Post Upgrade Test Result and made updates to the procedure.

March 14 Release Notes

1. Revised the SAP S4HANA Cloud Multi-Country Rollout accelerator to include SAP Central Business Configuration relevant instruction. The accelerator is assigned to Review Overview Documentation and other tasks.
2. Remodeled the task, Check External Tax Partner Interface, including an updated title, revised procedure steps, new procedure note and a new accelerator, Help – Manage External Tax Postings. This will help customers to determine and process inconsistencies between systems.
3. Moved tasks, Create Test Plan and Change Test Data Using Data Variant, from deliverable Automated Test Execution for SAP S/4HANA Cloud to deliverable Test Preparation for SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

November 29 Release Notes

This is consistent to other Intelligent Enterprise applications. Explore now ends with a quality gate similar to other phases.

1.
