How 60,000 Parts Were 3D Printed In Under Eight Hours Using Magna 3D Printer
In the span of only eight hours, over 60,000 parts were churned out. The result is a glimpse into what the future of 3D printing may hold.
Imagine being able to print out 60,000 parts in under eight hours. That's what the Magna 3D printer just did! This incredible machine can create a wide variety of 3D objects using a range of materials, including plastic, metal, and rubber. It is perfect for businesses that need to produce large quantities of parts quickly and efficiently.
Magna 3D Printer Prints 60,000 Parts in Eight Hours!
Merit3D, a leading additive manufacturing company in Southeastern Utah is achieving new milestones with their Magna 3D printers. It was able to break records by completing 60,000 parts within just eight hours in February! According to Merit3D CEO Spencer Loveless in a press release published on ETV news on February 4th, 2022:
"When we started exploring the possibilities of adding photo polymerization technology onto our system, we decided it was necessary because many companies had already done so or would soon do so."
With this addition came an increase not only in the print speed but in the model variety and quality. To complete this project, the company had to use a lot of different materials including plastic, metal, and rubber. The team was able to work with a wide range of objects and create them quickly and efficiently.
What Was the Purpose of the 60,000 3D Prints?
Alaska Guide Creations, a company authorized in producing high-quality outdoor optics and manufacturing accessories were looking for a way to create prototypes of their products quickly and be able to see what the final product would look like. It also needed to find a way to create many parts quickly and efficiently after the prototype has been created.
Co-owner of the company, Zac Jones, said that it struggled to find a side-release buckle that would fit their needs. The only solution was to design their custom hardware which solved this issue. However, the challenge now remained on mass production. The only method this company used was injection molding, and it was time-consuming as it could take months to get the design right.
Magna 3D printer of Merit3D was the perfect solution for their needs. It was able to mass-produce 60,000 parts within just eight hours using 3D printing.
This is an incredible feat that will save businesses a lot of time and money as parts can easily be customized by editing the STL file (see our intro to STL files) easily and sending it to the 3D printer. This is helpful for producing large and customized parts quickly and efficiently.
What Is the Magna 3D Printer, and What Are Its Key Features?
The Magna is a large format 3D printer designed for industrial applications. It can print parts with a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, and ceramics. The Magna is also much faster than traditional 3D printers, which can take days or even weeks to print a single part.
The Magna's speed and versatility make it an ideal tool for rapid prototyping and manufacturing. In addition, this 3D printer is capable of printing parts with a high degree of accuracy and resolution. This makes it perfect for printing intricate parts such as medical implants and aerospace components.
The Magna 3D printer is revolutionizing the way that parts are manufactured, and it is certain to have a major impact on the future of manufacturing. Other key features of this 3D printer include:
- A build volume of 510 x 280 x 350mm
- It has a printing speed of 13.3mm per hour
- It comes with a 4K screen
The high print speed combined with its large build area makes the Magna ideal for businesses that need to produce large quantities of parts quickly and efficiently.
3D Printing Faster Than Ever
The future looks bright for 3D printing, and it’s poised to take over many industries as the go-to method for mass production and customization. If you haven’t started exploring this technology yet, now is the time to get on board and see what all the hype is about.
