Period control method for Asset accounting for Fiscal Year variant 4-4-5

We are implementing asset accounting for a client with Fiscal Year variant 4-4-5. The period start and end dates are always on Jan 1st and Dec 31st for each year.
We have maintained period control methods 17 (for half month depreciation which is mandatory) and 01 (pro rata at period start date) in both SZ and SA Fiscal Year variant as mentioned in SAP documentation.
We are able to create an asset and post depreciation. We are not able to execute settlement for AuC assets (settle to new asset) where we face the error message with Period Control 06. As per the definition, period control 06 is only to denote that depreciation is calculated from the start of
