The House Select Committee investigating the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol are bringing to light their findings from a year's worth of work with a series of public hearings in June.

The select committee, formed in May 2021, has nine members, seven Democrats, including Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson, and two Republicans, Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

Its members and staff have spent the past year conducting hundreds of closed-door interviews, poring over hundreds of thousands of documents, and parsing phone and email records to reconstruct how President Donald Trump and his allies sought to overturn his 2020 election loss before a mob of pro-Trump rioters breached the US Capitol in an effort to stop the final certification of the 2020 election.

The panel is expected to hold six public hearings in total in June detailing their findings and hosting some witnesses to testify publicly. Two, including one in primetime, have been officially scheduled for the first half of the month.

Here's when and how to watch the hearings:

When are the January 6 Committee hearings?

The first public hearing is scheduled for primetime on Thursday, June 9 at 8 p.m. ET. in the House Cannon Office Building.

The committee said their first hearing "will present previously unseen material documenting January 6th, receive witness testimony, preview additional hearings, and provide the American people a summary of its findings about the coordinated, multi-step effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and prevent the transfer of power."

The committee's next scheduled hearing will take place on Monday, June 13 at 10 a.m. ET, also in the Cannon Office Building, the panel announced on Monday

Where can I watch the hearings?

Major television networks including ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC/MSNBC are expected to air the hearings in full or in part, especially the hearings scheduled for primetime hours in the evening. The hearings will also be live-streamed and available to watch in full on C-SPAN and on the Select Committee's YouTube channel.
